Winners of 2013 Foundation Golf Tournament announced

    Winners have been determined for the Northwest Mississippi Community College annual Foundation Golf Tournament, announced Sybil Canon, associate vice president of Development and Special Projects. The four-man scramble, held May 2 at Back Acres Country Club in Senatobia, featured 23 teams competing in championship and tournament flights.

    Taking first place in the championship flight were Shae Orrell of Oxford, Trey Lamar and Jay Hale, both of Senatobia and Robert Massey of Hernando. Second place winners were Mickey Aldridge and Jeremy Aldridge, both of Batesville, Harvey Cook of Memphis and Greg Vaughan of Oxford. Receiving third place were Johnny Bland and Kevin Bland, both of Marks, and Ronnie Goforth and Grant Goforth, both of Batesville.

    First place winners in the tournament flight were Sam Perry and Ed Perry, both of Hernando, and Dick Demuth and Tom Parrott, both of Senatobia.  Taking second place were Julie Hollingsworth of Nesbit, Kate Hickson of Batesville, Jerry Dunlap of Horn Lake and Shelley Henry of Southaven. Placing third were Brant Kairit and Keith Buck, both of Senatobia, Jason Robinson of Olive Branch and Blake Shipp of Batesville.

    Winning the Closest to the Pin contest were Kevin Bland of Marks, Shelley Henry of Southaven, Dick Demuth of Senatobia and Matt Sellers of Senatobia. First, second and third place teams received Pro Shop gift cards. Closest to the Pin winners received gift certificates to Windy City Grille.

    Proceeds from the golf tournament benefit the Northwest Foundation, which provides scholarships to Northwest students based on financial need, program of study, residency or other criteria. The Foundation publishes Northwest Now—a magazine for alumni and friends of the college—jointly with the Communications Office and works with the Alumni Office to honor the accomplishments of Northwest alumni and promote positive relationships with alumni and the community.
