A transfer student is defined as one who has hours attempted on his permanent record at another institution. A transfer student who plans to graduate from Northwest Mississippi Community College must have an official transcript sent from each post-secondary institution previously attended.

Students transferring to Northwest from other colleges or universities must adhere to the following policy:

IN-DISTRICT TRANSFERS
A transfer applicant whose home is within the Northwest Mississippi Community College eleven-county area is admitted in "good standing" if the student was in "good standing" at the previous college attended. Indistrict students transferring to Northwest on "academic probation" from another college or university will be accepted on "academic probation" and will be governed by regulations applied to Northwest students on probation.

OUT-OF-DISTRICT AND OUT-OF-STATE TRANSFERS
Transfer applicants from outside of the Northwest Mississippi Community College district must be in "good standing" and eligible for readmission to the previous college attended. Also, the applicant's academic standing will be evaluated in accordance with the policy of probation and eligibility at Northwest.
