"Things are going to come together for us at some point," third-year coach Bruce Lee said. "You don't try that hard with out eventually being rewarded. I saw a lot of improvement, especially on our women's team."

Rachel Speltz was a tenth of a second out of making the championship round of the barrel racing, while Lauren Sanders was a tenth of a second out of making the short round in the goat tying event. Outside of Boatwright, no other men placed in the bull riding event.

"I'm looking for some improved runs in two weeks," Lee said. "Something is about to break for us."

The next rodeo is set for Oct. 27-30 at Murray State University in Murray, Ky.
